If you have found termites in your home, the most important thing to do is
NOT DISTURB THEM.
Do not remove any damaged timber and do not spray them with any fly/insect spray.
If disturbed, the termites can relocate and attack a different area of your home. This can then prolong the termite control process.
Termites, also known as white ants, are Timber Pests that feed on dead plants and trees. They are social insects that live together in colonies of up to several million and work underground and live in tunnels for the purpose of exploring food sources.
As wood is their predominant food source, termites often find their way above ground provided there is a constant food source … your home.

First step is to identify if termites are in your home by getting a Termite Inspection.
A fully accredited technician will visually inspect all accessible areas of your home from the internal to the external of the property including all roof cavities and sub-floor areas.
An eleven (11) page report will be issued at the completion of the inspection outlining:
How it works ...
It’s highly likely that you have a home security system to protect your place from invaders. Well that’s how the EXTERRA Termite Interception and Baiting System can be described. It is there to protect you from the invasion of termites, continually. The creation of the EXTERRA Termite Interception Zone ensures that termite protection is ongoing, where as chemical deposits age in the soil and breakdown.
EXTERRA is different. A truly safe, environmentally friendly way to eliminate termites, EXTERRA uses a termites’ natural instincts against them, eliminating the attacking termite AND their whole colony. Even after the colony is eliminated, EXTERRA Stations guard your home using the natural power of CO2, monitoring for future invasions without the ongoing need to reapply chemicals. By using EXTERRA, you are establishing a long term, termite protection solution that’s easy on both you and the environment.
The first step of using EXTERRA Termite Protection is to install In-ground Stations around your property where termites are likely to be foraging for food. The Stations contain eucalypt timber interceptors that numerous, independent, studies have shown are the termites preferred food source.
If your property is surrounded by concrete, then the special EXTERRA Termite Protection In-concrete Station is used. This has a stainless steel cap that seals flush with the pathway.
EXTERRA Termite Protection Above-ground Stations are the preferred approach when termites are already in your home. REQUIEM Termite Bait is placed in the safe and sealed Station when it is installed. Above-ground Stations speed up the process of colony elimination. After the termite colony is eliminated, the Above-ground Stations are removed.
Termites are easily detected in the EXTERRA Stations. The unique (patented) design of the EXTERRA Station allows for termites to be seen without disturbing them. This is very important. And the termites are not disturbed when the REQUIEM Termite Bait is added either.
REQUIEM Termite Bait is added without disturbing the termites. This is vital to achieve quick and consistent termite control. REQUIEM is highly palatable to termites and they readily consume it in preference to timber. In fact, local studies show that once termites start feeding on REQUIEM they stop feeding on the timbers in your home! REQUIEM is also non-toxic to you and your pets.
The termites feed on the REQUIEM and take it back to the colony where it is fed slowly throughout the entire colony. Since the termites die gradually, they do not associate the colony’s demise with the consumption of REQUIEM. This ensures that the entire colony is eliminated.
Any remaining REQUIEM is removed. Fresh timber interceptors are placed in the In-ground Stations, and the Above-ground Stations are removed. To protect you against the constant threat from new termite colonies or other established colonies, the EXTERRA System works on an ongoing process of ‘Peace of Mind’ monitoring, baiting and eliminating. The ultimate Termite Protection.

Some great footage of an Above-ground Station with termites feeding on the REQUIEM Termite Bait. We see the caste ratio change is well underway with large numbers of soldiers present and fewer workers. This colony is in the final throes of colony elimination. Another EXTERRA Termite Control success story.
A chemical barrier is used as a termite protection defence system to stop termites accessing your home/building. A termiticide chemical is injected into the soil around the perimeter of the building and under the concrete slab. It is best to consult with one of our termite experts to see if it is the right termite control treatment for your property.
